Even though the willingness and the motivation are there but you are not backed with the right knowledge, skills and trainings then for sure you will not prosper in this kind of industry. So strongly consider getting the right set of skills and consider getting certified so that you can practice reflexology and do your part in helping people dismiss the aches and the pains and say hello to relaxation. The idea in addressing all points is that the intent of the practitioner is to cover all the internal organs. And this will also include muscle groups and the bones. As the therapy session progresses, there will come a point when the practitioner will come across 'tightness.' When this is evident, the therapist will normally apply pressure on that affected area so that the body can revert back to its normal state. It goes a long way back in history from different cultures and continents and principles are the same: pressure points on both hands and feet can ease tension when applied with correct amount of pressure. It is a form of massage that does not use any other instrument but the hand. Some reflexologists though use oils or talc to ease the tension in their own wrists and arms after exerting so much energy in the session. Or ask the person if he feels any pain due to the massaging actions that you are doing. If he says that there is pain, then what you can do is to apply pressure on the said area for at least 30 seconds and work on that same area. Just repeat the process until that soreness or pain is gone. These are simple techniques that can be performed by anyone, even without proper training in reflexology. Therefore, the application of pressure will enable better blood circulation and relaxation. The heaviness of the pressure must be in accordance to the standard practice set by professional reflexologists because too much pressure can result to injury or sprain and not a lot of people can endure such pain. Much like the acupuncture and pressure points in Chinese and Western reflexology, marma points pertain to the vulnerable energy spots in one's body that is pressed to detoxify and rejuvenate. The marma points located on opposing limbs are massaged one after the other in a circular motion. The difference between the Western reflexology and Ayurvedic reflexology is that the Western practice follows a map with several pressure points for each body part and internal organ whereas the Ayurvedic practice only has five major areas that cover the basic human anatomy.
