The advantage with these reptiles is that they can be brought up in any climate and can easily grow between four and six feet length and will weigh between ten and fifteen pounds when grown up. The pet iguanas can live up to 15 to 20 years as pet. However, it will depend on how they are fed and taken care. It is a fact that these tiny animals can turn very large very soon and may also become aggressive. However, they are generally good pets and you have to take their proper care for food and living. A tamed pet iguana will soon move freely in your house and will not eat anything by just getting excited. You can take them out for outdoor activities also. The Food: The food given to iguana should be healthy and nutritious. You can follow a diet plan for them in consultation with an expert. The iguanas normally eat plants, vegetables and fruits. They should not be fed food containing animal protein. They may relish pizza and all junk food, but that is not good for their health. The trunk and the neck have a tan and grayish spots over it. Its tail also has a few whitish and grayish spots. Desert iguana climbs up the bushes in extreme hot days to find solace in cooler places. However, it can sustain to be active even at 115 degrees Fahrenheit in the hot desert climate. The desert iguana mostly finds refuge in bushes and it is lives on vegetables, fruits, buds, flowers and leaves of perennial and annual plants found in the desert.
