Green iguana is the favorite of hunters, but it is not yet considered as imperiled breed of animals anywhere as is sometimes misunderstood like that. Hunters prefer to catch the large female iguanas. Green iguana is recognized as "Bamboo Chicken" and is a favorite delicacy for many people. Appearance of the Green Iguana: The green iguana normally grows between 4' to 6'. Chuckwalla mostly possesses a fat body and its skin loosely hangs over its body. These reptiles love heat very much. In the morning, they will not move until the temperature touches 100 degrees Fahrenheit. If there is extra heat, they will either change their color to reflect the sunlight or take shelter in the shade. The different varieties of iguanas may have dissimilar looks, but all of them resemble in relation to their diet, habits. The different varieties of iguana are: 1. Ctenosaura- spiny-tailed iguana. 2. Dipsosaurus, - desert iguana 3. Cyclura - rhinoceros and rock iguana. 4. Lemanctus - casque-headed iguana. It should be round and its skin should be free from scars, scratches lumps or bumps. The healthy iguanas are very fast in their movements and will not stay inactive at one place. They will move around in their cage. Giant green iguana is very eager to know everything taking place around him. Its eyes will be round and it will go on flicking the tongue in and out as it moves around. If they live in dirty environment, they can get recurrent exposure to blister disease. They also get dry gangrene on their toes and tails and these parts turn gray or black and become brittle to fall off. The basic cause is poor sanitation. The inflammation, swelling and pus are formed in mouth rot. The blisters cause pus formation. The disadvantages are that, if the number of reptiles increases more than the owners have space in their homes, it will be a big problem to feed them. It is difficult to manage and control when they already exist in a huge number and will not survive unless they get full care, proper food and shelter.
