The best Tips24

There are both natural as well as artificial nests for iguanas. The iguanas get their babies from both types of nests. The disadvantages are that, if the number of reptiles increases more than the owners have space in their homes, it will be a big problem to feed them. It is difficult to manage and control when they already exist in a huge number and will not survive unless they get full care, proper food and shelter. A two foot or higher depth can be used, if it has sufficient height. This size is enough for a small iguana. The male iguana will find it as a confinement unless there is additional provision for him to move outside the closet to play and jump around. If you interact with your pet daily, it will make him more homely and it will have confidence in you. Their diet should be balanced and major part of it should comprise leafy vegetables like mustard greens, kale, escarole, spinach, etc. They should also be fed with some amount of food rich in proteins. In addition, they can be fed green peppers, frozen mixed vegetable, squash, green beans and fruits such as apple, banana and mangoes. They are basically natives of Mexico and Central America. Further, they are very small in comparison to other varieties of iguanas and can grow only from 5 inches to 35 inches in length. They have big scales on their tails, which is their most spectacular feature. They are omnivores and feed on fruits, flowers and small insects as well. Temperature: Iguanas are cold blooded animals. Their body functioning mostly depends upon the heat they absorb from their environment. For the digestion of the food, they require heat from atmosphere. They cannot digest the food, if they are not kept at proper temperature in their enclosure. The temperature should be maintained between 85 and 110 degrees Fahrenheit for proper digestion of their food. The healthy iguanas are very fast in their movements and will not stay inactive at one place. They will move around in their cage. Giant green iguana is very eager to know everything taking place around him. Its eyes will be round and it will go on flicking the tongue in and out as it moves around. Do not go for a quiet and docile iguana.
