Iguanidae family comprises primarily eight types of iguanas: These are Genus: Cyrclura, Amblyrhyncus, Conolophus, Brachylophus, Ctenosauria, Dipsosaurus and Sauromalus The Genus Cyrclura or rock iguana is found in Caribbean islands. This is a rare species now and under protection as imperiled species. Physical characteristics of Rhinoceros Iguana: This is a very strong type of lizard. It has a firm body, which has a strong crest of its spine and is completely sturdy. It possesses long legs and walks tall on the ground. The Rhinoceros Iguanas have mostly grayish brown color. The male in this species grows up to 56 cms in length and weighs about 10 Kg. There are both natural as well as artificial nests for iguanas. The iguanas get their babies from both types of nests. The disadvantages are that, if the number of reptiles increases more than the owners have space in their homes, it will be a big problem to feed them. It is difficult to manage and control when they already exist in a huge number and will not survive unless they get full care, proper food and shelter. This will cause a lot of exertion on their kidneys and may lead to kidney problems. It is hard to absorb the animal proteins and it may produce uric acid in the body which causes gouty arthritis. 2. Water: iguanas consume only a meager quantity of water. There should be sufficient amount of humidity in their cage, otherwise they may get dehydrated. When they are in their natural dwelling, the iguana cantinas will be careful and shield themselves from the marauders. They are very active and possess a keen sense of hearing, sight and smell. They can easily sense the coercions from enemies to save themselves. Many people including minors and adolescents like to buy iguana cantinas to satisfy their grievous urge to keep them as pets, but subsequently they brush aside the crucial points for their rightful upkeep. These animals are categorized as herbivores-that mostly depend of the plants, leaves, vegetables, flowers and fruits. Iguanas possess distinct characteristics and they behave in a different way. The male iguana has quite different appearance and behavior than a female. Male iguanas are more invasive and they fight with other males until end even risking the life.
