To learn baseball intuitively, one must view it first as part of the audience. Audience view For the layman, the object of the game is for the teams to actually make more runs than their opponents. (A run is making it safely through all the bases.) Anybody who has the ball can tag you out if you are not in your rightful base plate. When a ball is hit, the player then needs to touch a series of four bases that are placed on the corners of the diamond on the field. When your team is assigned to hit balls, you are referred to as the batting team. All players will take turns in hitting the balls thrown by the assigned pitcher of the other team. This is in line with achieving the twin goals of the game hitting the most number of runs, and minimizing or eliminating the outs. One of these is the art of bunting. Essentially, it is still part in the art of hitting. However, techniques used in the field are somehow different. Bunting Primarily, bunting is used for advancing a runner or getting the batter on base. When your thighs are parallel to the ground, you have to stand back up. Repeat this step about three to six times. Trunk Rotations With your feet apart and your hand reaching out to your sides, turn your upper body to the right and then to the left. Do this again three to six times. Sprints Short sprints, which are done like players do in an actual game, help improve blood circulation in the muscles and increase body temperature. Other batter outs The other way a batter makes an out is when the fielder touches first base while holding the ball before the batter can touch base. There is an out, too, if the bunt lands foul on the third strike. The third strike is caught by the catcher. (If the catcher fails to catch the third strike, he must tag the batter with the ball or throw it to first before the batter reaches there. They face the pitcher while holding the bat. To begin the game, the pitcher starts to throw the ball way beyond the batter to hit the catcher s glove. The batter can also hit the ball for the action to roll in. When the ball is hit, there are eight people that are known as fielders who will try their best to catch it.
