If you really want to become a great drummer, then you have to have your own drum set. Now, what if you don t have the money to buy a new drum set? Well, you can always buy a used drum set. When buying a drum set for your young rocker, one of the most important things that you need to consider is the throne or what most people know as the drum chair. Most people think that the throne is just something that the drummers sit on but it s really more than that. You have to remember that the body moves a lot when drumming. By doing so, you will be able to use their expertise in order to make sure that the drum set you plan on buying is in good condition and that all the hardware pieces are still there. If this is your first time to purchase a drum set, remember to keep it simple. A large drum set may be tempting for you to buy but you need to remember that as a beginner, you won t need a lot of drums and cymbals. If you have the basic drum set, you will have a four or five-piece drum set. This means that you will have a bass drum, a snare drum, two mounted toms and one floor tom. For the six-piece drum set, you will have one bass drum, one snare drum, two mounted toms, and two floor toms. Just keep in mind that the larger the drum set, the more space you will need for setting it up and you will also have more equipment to transport. For example, if you live in an apartment or you live in a house where it is close to your neighbor s house, practicing playing the drums will produce a lot of noise, which can potentially make you a nuisance or annoyance to the neighbors as well as the people who live with you in the house.
