The whole purpose of weaving a web or creating a maze of threads is to make the perfect trap for catching prey; yet, the brown recluse spider does not consider that enough. The males are likely to leave their nest and go hunt somewhere else, while the females will not go far from the web. Their favorite hunting moment is the night, when there are less chances of being disturbed, threatened or exposed to the dangers of the outside world. Due to the extended size, the camel spiders are able to cut down the sting of the scorpion and make it harmless. The male camel spiders are smaller than the females, particularly since the latter will eat a lot before hatching. They need to accumulate some fat in order to be able to resist without food during the period when they have to guard the eggs. The treatment of the hobo spider bite is common with any other procedure applied to puncture wounds; let the bite bleed so as to eliminate as much venom as possible and then clean it with some topical antiseptic. Even if the bite may be itchy, try not to scratch since you may cause an infection of the deep tissues; do not apply cold or hot packs on the hobo bite since such measures are likely to increase tissue damage. The local symptoms associated with a spider bite include pain, itching, redness and even swelling of the area; their intensity can be reduced if a tight bandage is applied above the wound. This precaution measure is only valid in case the spider bite is located at the level of the arms or legs. One other thing you can do is to put some ice or cold water on the bite in order to reduce the discomfort and alleviate the pain. The important thing about spider identification is to actually be able to tell the poisonous spiders from the non-poisonous ones. Fortunately, the latter are far more numerous than the former, as poisonous spiders are spread only in certain globe areas, and sometimes they have warning features that sets them apart. Most bites are not only minor but also extremely rare; brown recluse spiders do not attack unless they feel threatened. As their very name suggests they enjoy very retreated corners where they are not bothered by light or intruders: cellars, garages, hallways or any other dark house area. Moreover, brown recluse spiders are very likely to be found behind paintings or under desks and tables.
